Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies PageGen uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. The short version: we only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work — no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They help the site remember things between page loads — for example, that you are signed in. Similar technologies include local storage, which keeps data in your browser only.

2. Cookies we use

PageGen only sets cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the service. Under EU ePrivacy rules these do not require consent, which is why we do not show a cookie banner.

CookieTypePurposeDuration
__session / __client (Clerk)Strictly necessaryKeeps you signed in securely and protects your session against forgery.Session / up to 7 days
__stripe_mid / __stripe_sidStrictly necessary (checkout only)Fraud prevention during payment, set by Stripe only when you open checkout.30 min – 1 year

3. Analytics — cookieless by design

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand traffic and performance. These tools are cookieless: they do not set cookies, do not fingerprint your device, and do not track you across other websites. Data is aggregated and anonymous.

4. Local storage (stays in your browser)

We use browser local storage for convenience features. This data never identifies you to third parties:

  • Your store branding preferences (name, logo URL, accent color).
  • Generator drafts and preview cache, so work is not lost on refresh.
  • UI preferences such as the selected color theme.

You can clear this at any time from your browser settings — the app will simply start fresh.

5. Third-party services

  • Clerk (authentication) — sets the session cookies listed above. EU-compliant processor.
  • Stripe (payments) — sets fraud-prevention cookies only on checkout pages.
  • Sentry (error monitoring) — receives technical error reports; sets no advertising cookies.

We do not use advertising networks, social-media pixels, or any cross-site tracking technology.

6. How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in, since the session cookie is what keeps your account secure.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce cookies that require consent (for example, marketing cookies), we will update this policy and ask for your consent first via a clear opt-in banner.
